Terms of Use

HaveYouClub is a private clubhouse for tracking books, movies, TV, anime, and games together with people you know — friends, family, coworkers, or any small group. You can create or join clubs, nominate items, vote on what to do next, log progress, and have spoiler-aware conversations.

HaveYouClub is currently free to use. If we ever introduce paid features, we'll give you notice and you won't be charged without explicit consent.

• You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service.
• You're responsible for what happens under your account.
• One account per person. Don't share credentials.
• Keep your contact email accurate so we can reach you.
• Tell us if you think your account is compromised.

Don't:

• Post anything illegal, harassing, threatening, or that infringes someone else's rights.
• Impersonate other people or misrepresent who you are.
• Spam, scrape, or use bots to access the Service.
• Try to bypass our security, rate limits, or spoiler controls.
• Interfere with the Service or anyone else's use of it.
• Resell or commercialize the Service without our written agreement.

We may remove content, suspend features, or terminate accounts that break these rules.

You own what you post. You give us a limited license to display it inside the clubs you're a member of and to operate the Service (storage, backups, search, spoiler-safe rendering). You represent that you have the right to post what you post.

Tag every post with your current chapter or episode — the whole point of HaveYouClub is conversation without spoilers, and that only works if everyone tags honestly.

Clubs are private by default. Admins control who joins. We don't surface club content in public search results or third-party integrations without your club's explicit setup.

HaveYouClub uses data from several third-party sources to show you accurate book, film, TV, anime, and game information. These credits are required by our data partners:

• Movies and TV: This product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB.
• Games: Game metadata provided by IGDB.com.
• Anime: Anime data from MyAnimeList via the Jikan API.
• Books: Book data from Open Library, a project of the Internet Archive.

We're not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any of these providers. Trademarks and content shown remain the property of their respective owners.

We'll keep working to make HaveYouClub better. We may change, suspend, or discontinue features. When changes are material and affect existing users, we'll give reasonable notice in product.

You can delete your account from account settings at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that break these Terms or create risk for us.

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We don't warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fully secure.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, HaveYouClub will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, or use, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of US$100 or the amounts you have paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

Governing law. These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, USA, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules.

Binding individual arbitration. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will be resolved by binding individual arbitration administered by JAMS in Texas (or by remote proceedings at the arbitrator's discretion), except that either party may bring qualifying claims in small-claims court or seek injunctive relief in court to protect intellectual property or stop ongoing unauthorized access.

Class-action waiver. Disputes will be resolved on an individual basis. Neither party may participate in a class action, class arbitration, consolidated action, or representative action. The arbitrator may award relief only on an individual basis.

Opt-out. You may opt out of the arbitration agreement above by emailing hello@haveyouclub.com with the subject "Arbitration Opt-Out" within 30 days of first agreeing to these Terms.

If we make material changes to these Terms, we'll notify current users in-product before the change takes effect. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms.
